Alberta L. Podunajec

Alberta L. Podunajec, 85, of Waymart died peacefully on Saturday evening, November 12, 2016 at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Podunajec in July of 2010. Born October 24, 1931 in Waymart, she was the daughter of the late Duane and Pearl Kennedy Davis. Alberta graduated from Waymart High School, Class of 1949. She was a member of the Waymart Presbyterian Church. Alberta enjoyed cooking and baking and was well know among her family for her good food. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening and will be remembered for the pleasure that she found in that work. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Lescinski and her husband Ted of Waymart; two grandchildren: Katie and Tim Lescinski, also of Waymart; two sisters: Marilyn Podunajec and her husband Peter of Waymart, and Doris Bates of Honesdale; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Steven; and two sisters: Sandra Robinson and Romaine Maybe. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in the Waymart Presbyterian Church with Pastor Wendy D'Agostino and former Pastor Glen Davis co-officiating. Friends may visit at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners, Owego Turnpike, Waymart. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alberta's memory to the American Heart Association, 968 Postal Road, Suite 110, Allentown, PA 18109.
