Born August 11, 1927 at the family homestead in Fallsdale, Damascus Township, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bessie (Rolston) Eltz.

A lifelong resident of Wayne County, Evelyn was raised on the family farm and graduated from Damascus High School, Class of 1945. Evelyn was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Waymart for 71 years. She served the church as a Sunday School teacher and was active with the United Methodist Women’s Society. Ed and Evelyn shared a love for music and enjoyed many years square dancing and socializing with their neighbors, friends and family. She will be remembered for her commitment to her family; she was a wonderful cook and baker. Evelyn always managed to ensure that her children and grandchildren were well-dressed and well-fed. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
