Thomas S. Robinson

January 1, 1932 — January 30, 2018

Thomas S. Robinson, 86, of Lake Alden, formerly of Waymart, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 30, 2018 at home.  His wife of 65 years is the former Lorraine Hallowich; they were married in June of 1952.

Born January 25, 1932 in South Canaan, he was the son of the late George and Helen (Bosak) Robinson.

Tom graduated from Waymart High School in 1949. He served in the United States Navy from 1949-1953.  He worked in Honesdale for the Murray Co. from 1953-1966, and later went on to work for PPL until his retirement in 1994.  Tom enjoyed playing his guitar and calling square dances with The Rhythm Valley Boys for 35 years.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Church and The Holy Name Society, and the Waymart Volunteer Fire Co.

He is also survived by four children:  Thomas Robinson and his wife Debra of Bethany, Robert Robinson and his wife Karen of Pleasant Mount, Gerald Robinson and his wife Cheryl of Richford, NY and Sarah Hine of Waymart; 1 grandson, 7 granddaughters, and 7 great-granddaughters; three sisters:  Marie Drawga, Bessie Palmer, and Jane Ovens.

Tom was also preceded in death by a son:  Ronald Robinson in 2014; brothers and sister:  Francis, Dave, Richard, and Clarence Robinson, and Louise Cummings.

The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 242 Carbondale Road, Waymart, PA. All attending are asked to go directly to the church.

Friends may call on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Jenkins-Howell Funeral Home, Inc. Edward Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472.

Private Burial will be on Saturday in Keen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s memory to Waymart Volunteer Fire Co., PO Box 186, Waymart, PA 18472.
